Entered nursing in 1974 and worked in areas of acute care in med/surg renal with transplants, Pediatrics, PICU and Neonatal ICU and adult ICU in prestigious organizations such at Hahnemann University Hospital and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. After the birth of my first daughter, I sought the day shift, which led me to The Visiting Nurse Association of Greater Philadelphia, which was the 4th largest VNA in the country. I loved the diversity of the patients both in age and in diagnosis. I was able to also specialize in SIDS counseling and hospice nursing. This is where I also came into recruitment. At that time the VNA had 5 different divisions for which I recruited nurses, CNAs, PT, OT, Speech therapists and clerical positions for both union and non-union positions. In the recruitment phase of my life, I have worked for Frankford Health System as an HR Generalist, Temple University Health System, where I held several different titles, including Manager of Nurse Recruitment, Home Health Corp of America where I was the Nurse Recruiter/Nurse Educator, Albert Einstein Healthcare Network and New York Presbyterian. I have recruited entry level positions to hospitalists. In my current position at Raritan Bay Medical Center, my title is Sr. HR Business Partner to Nursing. I report to both HR for recruitment and Nursing for Organizational Development.
I have served on the boards of the Advance for Nurses and the Philadelphia Inquirer. While in the Philadelphia Healthcare market I was a member of the Philadelphia Area Association of Healthcare Recruiters. I am a Parish Nurse and also a member of the Red Cross-volunteers of disaster.
